Charlie Bilello at Creative Planning compiled this list of the thirty best-performing stocks over the past 30 years. Over those 30 years, an investment of $10,000 in the S&P 500 would have turned into $170,680 or a 9.9% annual return. Not bad. But that same $10,000 invested in the top 30 stocks would have netted you a minimum of $1.5 million or an 18.2% annual return. The best stock, Amazon, has turned that $10,000 into $19.5 million since its IPO in 1997, equivalent to a 33.0% annual return!
